The PEOPLE Loves Pets: Dog of the Week celebration has officially wrapped! Over the past five weeks, you voted for your favorite pups, senior sweethearts and delightfully goofy dogs. Now, it’s time to meet the five winners who stole your hearts.
- Franky: Weighing just 12 pounds, this miniature Dachshund may be small, but he’s always the life of the party. A fearless explorer with endless energy, Franky is happiest racing after his next adventure — or, occasionally, a flock of geese. Whether he’s showing off his speed or making a grand entrance at family celebrations, this tiny pup’s playful spirit always steals the spotlight.
- Kona: Weighing just over four pounds, this 4-month-old Pit-Chihuahua mix is small but mighty. With her soulful hazel eyes and gentle spirit, Kona helped mend her owner’s broken heart after the loss of a beloved dog, reminding everyone that love has a way of finding us when we need it most.
- Franklin: The beloved mascot of Pocasset Hardware, Franklin wins everyone over with his ultra-friendly personality, generous kisses and endless requests for belly rubs.
- Nash: With undeniable main character energy, Nash believes everyone he meets is a friend — and possibly a source of treats. This Golden Irish brings joy wherever he goes, especially when a Pup Cup is involved, and loves nothing more than making people smile.
- Charlie: This 16-year-old Shichon has become an inspiration thanks to his signature UV-protection glasses, which help protect his cataract-affected eyes. Charlie’s unique look has encouraged kids to embrace what makes them different, and as the star of two children’s books, he continues spreading messages of confidence and kindness. When he’s not inspiring others, he enjoys naps, puzzle games and daily walks.
