A New York City restaurant suffered a severe fire on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
The Ambassadors Clubhouse, an Indian restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, caught fire at 10:39 a.m. while the eatery was closed. The fire remained on the building’s exterior and was contained by the New York Fire Department (FDNY) by 11:10 a.m., the FDNY confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE.
No one was injured.
The Ambassadors Clubhouse, operated by JKS Restaurants, will close temporarily until it is safe to reopen, a JKS Restaurants representative confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE.

Pavan Pardasani, the Global CEO of JKS Restaurants, addressed the incident in an Instagram post on Friday, Aug. 14.
“As business owners, restauranteurs alike, we face constant uncertainty in our day to day operations,” Pardasani wrote. “This is nothing more than a highly visible example of that. “
Pardasani’s post included footage of the incident, which showed smoke pouring out of the building as the blaze burned.
