Influencer Santos Salazar Arrested for Attempted Murder, Weeks After Welcoming Baby with Model Brianna Olsen

The pair welcomed a son together earlier this year

The father of influencer Brianna Olsen’s child, Santos Salazar, has been arrested for attempted murder.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told PEOPLE officers responded to a call for a “domestic violence incident” just after midnight on Thursday, Aug. 13, and arrested an “adult male suspect” for attempted murder.

Salazar — who welcomed a son, Sunday Ray, with Olsen in July — was booked into a Los Angeles jail at 4:43 a.m. on Aug. 13, where he is still being held on a $1 million bail, per jail records viewed by PEOPLE.

The LAPD spokesperson said its investigation “remains ongoing” and declined to share further information to “protect the integrity of the investigation.”

Olsen and Salazar are known by hundreds of thousands of followers online for documenting their relationship. Earlier this year, they shared videos from the hospital together when they welcomed their son. 

Since Salazar’s arrest, Olsen has continued to update her social media accounts, and she has publicly addressed his detainment.

On her Snapchat account, Olsen shared a video of what appeared to be Santos’s arrest on Thursday, where a man could be seen getting handcuffed and walked out of a residence by officers. She wrote in overlaid text, “I’m so sorry guys….”

“I’ve been talking to lawyers all day,” she told her followers in another update later that day. “Hopefully Santos can come home around Monday when he sees the judge.”

While he was in police custody, Olsen also shared photos with him from their maternity shoot earlier this year.
