Andrew Garfield Joins Monica Barbaro for a Rare Public Appearance at “One Night Only ”Premiere

Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro made a rare appearance together in New York City as they premiered her new movie.

Garfield, 42, and Barbaro, 36, were seen outside of an afterparty for Barbaro’s romantic comedy One Night Only following the movie’s N.Y.C. premiere on Monday, Aug. 3. Garfield wore a dark green suit with a matching T-shirt and white sneakers, while Barbaro stepped out wearing a black dress to celebrate One Night Only.

Barbaro and Garfield have been romantically linked since February 2025, when a source told PEOPLE the couple was “spending time together quietly” after fans spotted them at a play in London. Neither actor has publicly confirmed their romantic relationship. Garfield shared during a 2024 interview with Esquire that he “won’t ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone, ever,” moving forward.

Even so, the duo have been seen spending time together and holding hands several times since February 2025, including time on the beach in Malibu, Calif. in May of last year and an appearance together at Wimbledon in July 2025 to take in the annual tennis tournament. In August 2025, Barbaro traveled with Garfield to the Venice International Film Festival, where Garfield premiered last year’s drama After the Hunt. The pair returned to Wimbledon this past July, where they were seen sitting among famous friends like Tom Hiddleston and Michaela Coel on July 4.

Garfield and Barbaro will also costar in an upcoming movie titled Artificial, directed by Luca Guadagnino, whom Garfield just worked with on After the Hunt. Artificial sees Garfield portray OpenAI CEO Sam Altman; according to Variety, the movie follows the time period in 2023 during which Altman, 41, was fired by the company and then rehired days later. The San Francisco Chronicle reported in July 2025 that Barbaro will portray OpenAI’s then-chief technology officer Mira Murati.

In June 2025, Barbaro cited filmmaker Guadagnino, 54, as “one of my favorite directors” while speaking with Entertainment Tonight about Artificial at a premiere for her Netflix series FUBAR. “I’m excited to work with the whole cast, it’s gonna be a great time,” she added with a laugh, when ET‘s reporter asked specifically if she was excited to work with Garfield.

Before Artificial releases in theaters later this year, Barbaro costars with Callum Turner in One Night Only, a rom-com where the actors portray two strangers who meet during the one night each year when sex outside marriage is legally allowed. Maya Hawke, Molly Ringwald, Okieriete Onaodowan, Este Haim, King Princess, Julia Fox and more costar in the movie. Garfield also has two other movies releasing this year The Magic Faraway Tree, in theaters Aug. 21, and The Uprising, in theaters Sept. 11.

One Night Only is in theaters Aug. 7.
