An arrest warrant has been issued for Bill Belichick‘s daughter-in-law.
On Monday, July 13, a Brunswick District Court judge in North Carolina issued an arrest warrant for Jennifer Schmitt Belichick, the wife of Bill’s son and defensive coordinator Steve Belichick, according to court documents reviewed by PEOPLE. The warrant comes after she failed to appear for a scheduled court appearance three days prior.
The planned hearing was in response to an alleged traffic violation on May 21 around 5:43 p.m., in which Jen is accused of driving at 88 mph in a 70 mph zone.

Court records indicate that officials tried to contact Jen via phone on the date of her hearing, but couldn’t reach her.
PEOPLE has contacted both the Brunswick District Court and Jen for comment.
A court official told the California Post that Jen has three options moving forward: she can voluntarily surrender to police, file a motion to recall or strike the warrant, or find a lawyer to help her navigate the process.
The outlet reported that Jen and Stephen got married “nearly a decade ago” and have since welcomed several children together.
Jen previously made headlines in 2025 after weighing in on her father-in-law’s highly publicized relationship with his 25-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson.

In April 2025, Jen slammed Hudson’s behavior during Bill’s viral CBS interview, in which Hudson appeared to interrupt the conversation to steer the 74-year-old Tar Heels head coach away from certain topics. While some viewed Hudson’s behavior as similar to that of a publicist, Jen disagreed.
“Publicists act in a professional manner and don’t ‘storm’ off set delaying an interview,” Jen wrote on Instagram, in response to a comment from comedian Nikki Glaser, who was defending Hudson.
