Alex Rodriguez revealed that his younger daughter Ella has taken the next big step in her educational journey.

The baseball star, 50, shared on Instagram on Tuesday, Feb. 3, that the 17-year-old has gotten into her “dream school” — UNC Chapel Hill in North Carolina — alongside photos of the family doing a school visit.

He kicked off the post showing him and his ex-wife, Cynthia Scurtis, posing alongside their daughter, Ella, on the Kenan Stadium field at UNC Chapel Hill. The family — which also includes Ella’s older sister, Natasha, 21 — beamed at the camera, with Ella appearing to hold an orientation packet.

A second photo showed Rodriguez holding up a UNC Chapel Hill decal with the university’s logo and the word “dad” underneath it as he smiled at the camera. Another snap showed Scurtis and Ella posing together in front of a plane.

He also included an aerial shot of UNC Chapel Hill’s football arena with several fans in the stands and a father-daughter selfie that Ella took. He concluded the post with a final photo of the college’s logo over a white background.

“Ella is officially a Tar Heel 💙,” Rodriguez captioned the photos. “I can’t put into words how proud I am of my youngest daughter for being accepted into her dream school @uncchapelhill.”

“She has worked so incredibly hard for this and @cynthiar.3 and I couldn’t be happier for her!” he added.

Rodriguez’s older daughter, Natasha, is a junior at the University of Michigan.

The former MLB player has been candid about his mentality regarding fatherhood in the past, especially as his own father, Victor, left his family when he was just 10 years old. That experience influenced him to be a different kind of father to his daughters.

“Fatherhood is not one of the most important things, it is the most important thing,” he shared in the HBO docuseries Alex vs ARod. “There was a promise that I made to myself after my father left at the age of 10. The prayer was basically that if I ever had an opportunity to be a father, I would take full advantage and be fully committed.”

He went on to say that he and Scurtis, who divorced in 2008 after six years of marriage, took their co-parenting vow seriously, and made sure their daughters never went without one of them.

“Cynthia, my ex-wife, is one of my best friends in the world,” he said. “We’ve always been really, really strong, and the girls would spend every summer here in New York with me, and Cynthia would actually move up with her husband. And it was wonderful.”

“One year we lived in the West Village across the street and the girls went back and forth…now we have the family group chat, we vacation together. It’s a modern family,” he added.
