The park has not provided a reason for the continued closure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ride remains closed at this time,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health\u2019s (Cal\/OSHA) Amusement Ride and Tramway Unit has opened an inspection into a \u201creported incident involving the <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sixflags.com\/magicmountain\/attractions\/x2-coaster\" data-type=\"\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">X2 roller coaster<\/a> at Six Flags Magic Mountain,\u201d a spokesperson for the agency tells PEOPLE.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/people.com\/thmb\/PksiyajFHkTOv2B-oUnz4odprBE=\/fit-in\/1280x960\/x2-roller-coaster-081426-2-3ee4f2756c764b14aa8a02c9b2bc3f91.jpg\" alt=\"X2 roller coaster ride at Six Flags Magic MountainCredit: Shutterstock\" title=\"Aerial of Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park, rollercoaster rides, trees at sunrise. X2 rollercoaster ride. \" \/><figcaption><i>X2 roller coaster ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain<br \/>Credit: Shutterstock<\/i><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The investigation comes amid a series of incidents involving the ride this summer.<\/p>\n<p>The Los Angeles County Fire Department says in a statement shared with PEOPLE that it was dispatched to <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/six-flags-may-undergo-major-portfolio-changes-new-trademark-docs-reveal-11883543\" data-type=\"\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Six Flags Magic Mountain<\/a> for an EMS call on July 5 at 9:11 p.m. local time. Fire Station 76 was the first unit on scene at the 26100 block of Magic Mountain Parkway in Valencia.<\/p>\n<p>The fire department did not provide additional information about the patient or whether they were transported to the nearest area hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Cal\/OSHA said its inspection remains ongoing and declined to provide further details at this time.<\/p>\n<p>In June, a <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/fire-ignites-under-six-flags-roller-coaster-in-california-11996635\" data-type=\"\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fire broke out<\/a> beneath the roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain.<\/p>\n<p>Los Angeles County fire crews responded to the theme park at around 12:21 p.m. on June 11 after a fire ignited underneath X2.<\/p>\n<p>The fire spread to other trees and nearby brush, burning about half an acre and blanketing the area in smoke, according to <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-xeqTslvtQE\" data-type=\"\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KNN<\/a>. No evacuations were issued, and no guests or firefighting personnel were injured, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>The cause of that fire remains unknown. \u201cThere were no injuries or structural damages,\u201d Six Flags spokesperson Sara Gorgon told <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/06\/11\/us-news\/fire-breaks-out-under-six-flags-magic-mountain-roller-coaster\/?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=capost\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\"><em>The<\/em> <em>California Post<\/em><\/a> at the time.<\/p>\n<p>The ride has also been the subject of a wrongful-death lawsuit stemming from the death of a 22-year-old man, Christopher Hawley, who suffered a <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/22-year-old-said-head-hurt-after-riding-roller-coaster-died-next-day-lawsuit-11699928\" data-type=\"\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fatal brain injury<\/a> after riding X2 in 2022. After getting off the ride, which his family alleged \u201cjerked its riders around like rag dolls,\u201d Hawley complained that his head hurt before losing consciousness.<\/p>\n<p>He was taken to a Six Flags medical tent before being transported to a local hospital, where he died the next day, according ot his family\u2019s complaint filed in the Los Angeles County Superior Court in 2024 and previously obtained by PEOPLE.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/people.com\/thmb\/IyuIvVPuwi6A30psI6SJq2c4BlM=\/fit-in\/1280x960\/x2-roller-coaster-081426-61d7d84df6024b62b720fb010c405c06.jpg\" alt=\"X2 roller coaster ride at Six Flags Magic MountainCredit: Shutterstock\" title=\"people enjoying X2 roller coaster ride\" \/><figcaption><i>X2 roller coaster ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain<br \/>Credit: Shutterstock<\/i><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A coroner\u2019s report determined Hawley had suffered a brain injury and that his death resulted from \u201chead trauma\u201d from a \u201cpark ride accident,\u201d the complaint claimed. His family alleged Six Flags and other defendants were aware of previous injuries associated with the ride.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to make sure that that ride isn\u2019t going to kill somebody else,\u201d Hawley\u2019s father, William Hawley, told the <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/22-year-old-said-head-hurt-after-riding-roller-coaster-died-next-day-lawsuit-11699928\" data-type=\"\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>O.C.
