In and out of Hollywood, GLP-1 drugs have transformed the weight-loss landscape. The FDA- approved medications, which include semaglutides Ozempic and Wegovy and tirzepatides Zepbound and Mounjaro, help manage type 2 diabetes and obesity by regulating blood sugar, decreasing appetite and slowing digestion. While some stars turn to GLP-1s to address long-term weight struggles, others use the drugs to drop a few pounds \u2014 or even slim down before red-carpet events.<\/p>\n

Read on for what stars have said about the meds, from those who say they have no interest in trying them (including Kate Winslet<\/a> and Nigella Lawson) to those, such as Chrissy Metz<\/a>, Oprah<\/a> and Rosie O\u2019Donnell<\/a>, who credit the drugs \u2014 which also have benefits that can include improved mental health<\/a> and reduced addiction cravings<\/a> \u2014\u00a0with helping them on their health journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have said what I have said about the potential harm of people using the diabetes medication for weight loss only. I fear for everyone in the next few years. Rich people are buying this stuff off prescription for upwards of 1000 dollars. Actual diabetics are seeing shortages. It\u2019s a now mainstream craze in Hollywood. HOPE this doesn\u2019t end the same way we were told opioids were safe. There is little to no discussion of the side effects in any advertising online. I\u2019m deeply concerned but I can\u2019t change any of your minds because fat phobia has our generation in a chokehold.<\/p>\n
