In fact, he specifically remembers a stretch of time when Grippo stopped calling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think he just decided to sleep in this week. I was asking my buddy, I was like, \u2018Go to his house, see if he\u2019s awake, see if he\u2019s alive,\u2019\u201d Spencer shares.\u00a0\u201cOur phone calls are what we both need. It\u2019s like a wellness check at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The pair met while filming season 17 of <em>The Bachelorette,<\/em> featuring Katie Thurston. They also continue to stay busy, but never too busy for the 9 a.m. call.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Spencer tells PEOPLE, \u201cWe got a lot coming up, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just want to just continue building our relationship that we have.
