Additional safeguards and senior technical oversight are now in place as preparations continue.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/people.com\/thmb\/EEo3p_TfP_3mKafYiIj7zswvyCA=\/fit-in\/1280x960\/great-american-state-fair-stage-070326-1-968ae7d8e157498a8313f6fb2e4f75b4.jpg\" alt=\"The rally to kick off the Great American State Fair on the National Mall on June 24, 2026.Credit: Al Drago\/Getty\" title=\"The Washington Monument is seen behind the stage as attendees watch the rally to kick off the Great American State Fair on the National Mall on June 24, 2026 in Washington, DC\" \/><figcaption><i>The rally to kick off the Great American State Fair on the National Mall on June 24, 2026.<br \/>Credit: Al Drago\/Getty<\/i><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Freedom 250 organizers stated that the performers \u201cremain fully focused on delivering an unforgettable celebration for the American people&#8221; on the Fourth of July.<\/p>\n<p>Amid the heat wave looming over Washington, D.C., the Salute to America Celebration and Fireworks adjusted its time table so crowds wouldn\u2019t be outside in the worst of the heat.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe safety and well-being of every guest remains our top priority as we celebrate this historic 250th Independence Day,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/freedom250.org\/celebration\/salute-to-america-celebration-and-fireworks\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow\">Freedom 250 shared on their site<\/a>. \u201cIn light of current heat conditions, Freedom 250, United States Park Police, National Park Service, the United States Secret Service and the Federal Emergency Management Agency have coordinated closely to adjust event timing and expand cooling resources, water stations and medical support across the grounds.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While military flyovers at the National Mall will take place hourly from 1:15 p.m. till sunset on Saturday, July 4, the Washington Monument Grounds won\u2019t open until 5 p.m. to reduce exposure to the heat.
