The new movie reunited all four of the series&#8217; original stars <a class=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/movies\/the-wayans-family-everything-to-know\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"null\">Shawn Wayans<\/a>, <a class=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tag\/marlon-wayans\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" rel=\"null\">Marlon Wayans<\/a>, <a class=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tag\/regina-hall\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"3\" rel=\"null\">Regina Hall<\/a> and <a class=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tag\/anna-faris\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"4\" rel=\"null\">Anna Faris<\/a> for the first time since <em>Scary Movie 2<\/em> and grossed $55 million at the domestic box office over the weekend. The movie also made $50.5 million in overseas theaters and has already grossed more than $100 million worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The Wayans brothers \u2014 Marlon, 53, Shawn, 55, and Keenen Ivory, 67 \u2014 originated the popular horror movie spoof series with 2000&#8217;s original <em>Scary Movie<\/em>, a parody of horror movies like <em>Scream<\/em>. The team was the creative forces behind the series&#8217; first two movies and exited the franchise prior to 2003&#8217;s <em>Scary Movie 3<\/em>. Marlon announced in 2024 that he and his brothers were <a class=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/scary-movie-wayans-brothers-announce-horror-spoof-franchise-return-8736320\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"null\">returning for the franchise&#8217;s new movie<\/a>. According to <em><a class=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/obsession-box-office-record-curry-barker-focus-top-movie-1236614215\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"null\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/em>, its $25.6 million gross over the weekend is the best fourth weekend for a horror movie in theaters ever, besting 1999&#8217;s <em>Blair Witch Project.<\/em> The outlet reported that <em>Obsession<\/em> is the first movie since <em>E.T.
