In an interview leading up to the release of <em>Rafa<\/em>, Nadal told PEOPLE that he is making a conscious effort to \u201cspend as much time as possible\u201d with his sons.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a class=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/rafael-nadal-protected-family-wife-mery-perello-from-media-exclusive-11986016\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"null\">I love being a father,<\/a>\u201d he continued. \u201cIt&#8217;s an amazing experience \u2014 one of the best &#8230; I especially like to bring them to school in the morning, to pick them up in the afternoon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s everything to know about Rafael Nadal&#8217;s two children, Rafael Jr. and Miquel.<\/p>\n<h2>Rafael Jr., 3<\/h2>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/people.com\/thmb\/G3HXzpuUAiiB9sim6psyU_T6KZo=\/fit-in\/1280x960\/rafael-nadal-maria-francissca-son-rafael-olympics-070925-d09fbf84af62477c936e3ddd27a1f6f4.jpg\" alt=\"Rafael Nadal's son.Credit: Andy Cheung\/Getty\" title=\"Rafael Nadal's son.\" \/><figcaption><i>Rafael Nadal&#8217;s son.<br \/>Credit: Andy Cheung\/Getty<\/i><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Nadal and Perell\u00f3 became parents on Oct. 8, 2022, when they welcomed their first child, son Rafael Jr.<\/p>\n<p>The retired tennis star first revealed that he and his wife were expecting a baby during a press conference in Palma de Mallorca in June 2022. &#8220;I don&#8217;t know what will change in my life because I don&#8217;t have experience, but I don&#8217;t think it will change my professional life,&#8221; he said at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Nadal shared the news of his son&#8217;s birth in a post on <a class=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RafaelNadal\/status\/1580605755698597890\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow\">X<\/a>, writing in Spanish that everyone was &#8220;very happy&#8221; and doing &#8220;very well.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The tennis star keeps his son largely out of the spotlight. The <a class=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/www.europapress.es\/chance\/gente\/noticia-rafa-nadal-mery-perello-ya-son-padres-segundo-hijo-nombre-elegido-motivo-especial-20250809122058.html\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em>Europa Press<\/em><\/a>\u00a0news agency reported that the newborn baby was named after Perell\u00f3&#8217;s late father, who died in April 2023 following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>In the final episode of <em>Rafa<\/em>, fans got their first glimpse at baby Miquel.
