Our trusts were equal. Although his was slightly more, but negligibly so.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The comments regarding Julian\u2019s inheritance stem from a highly-publicized 16-year court battle that ensued after John was murdered in 1980, at which time Sean\u2019s mother, Yoko Ono, was left in complete control of the Beatles legend\u2019s massive estate, as reported by the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/celebrity-news\/1679495\/john-lennon-fortune-julian-lennon-sean-lennon-beatles-inheritance-royalties-spt\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\"> Daily Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Following in his father\u2019s footsteps, Julian became a <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/music\/julian-lennon-covers-john-lennon-imagine-during-ukraine-fundraiser\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\">successful musician<\/a> and has released seven studio albums to date, including <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/music\/julian-lennon-talks-love-hate-relationship-with-the-beatles-hey-jude\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\">2022\u2019s <em>Jude<\/em><\/a>, a reference to the Beatles\u2019 classic song \u201cHey Jude,\u201d written by <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/tag\/paul-mccartney\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"3\">Paul McCartney<\/a> in 1968 as a means of consoling young Julian as his parents divorced.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/people-puzzler-8620185\" data-type=\"\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>The PEOPLE Puzzler crossword is here! Play now!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In an earlier interview with PEOPLE, Julian said, \u201cIt was very much reflective, looking in the mirror deeply and trying to find that place of peace. I found it one or two times before, but it got lost in the muddle of life. Working on the album was about getting in touch with myself and who I am.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a 2020 interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/programmes\/p08t4q98\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC Radio<\/a>, Julian spoke with Sean about one of his last conversations with Lennon before his death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDad and I had been getting on and speaking a lot more on the phone, you know. When I was sort of 15, 16 and 17,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cI just remember I was living in North Wales at the time and I\u2019d spent six months or a year in boarding as well and I\u2019d finally come home. And I was living at mom\u2019s house and I was finishing up at school.
