The role was passed down to him by his father, Larry Seaver.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, Sept. 22, She\u2019s Alive, LLC (SAL), which Parton designed to protect her legacy after her death, filed a lawsuit against Seaver, alleging he became \u201cemboldened\u201d after she died on Aug. 25 at age 80, and that his behavior ultimately led to his firing. SAL also filed for a temporary restraining order against Seaver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Seaver began his campaign of threats, intimidation, and coercion a few weeks prior to Ms. Parton\u2019s passing\u2026. In writing, he vowed to \u2018destroy the entire brand\u2019 and also told her entertainment attorney: \u201cI\u2019m not an entertainment person. One of the filings alleges that in the weeks prior to and after his aunt\u2019s death, Seaver threatened to smear her brand and \u201cinflict reputational and economic harm\u201d on those entrusted with protecting the brand, including by launching a podcast dedicated to ruining her brand partnerships unless he was paid.<\/p>\n<p>He is accused of making \u201cthreats of real-world violence\u201d to Parton\u2019s staff, partners, legal and business advisors, allegedly often invoking his background as a military contractor. The filing claims his alleged behavior is what led to his firing, as SAL considers itself \u201carmed with a duty to protect the employees and partners who promote [Parton\u2019s] brand and partnership.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the entity entrusted by Ms. Parton to protect and promote her life\u2019s work for future generations, SAL must cultivate a safe work environment for employees, advisors, and partners, free from intimidation or hostility\u2014particularly intimidation by an armed former security contractor,\u201d one of the filings says. \u201cWithout relief, Defendants\u2019 calculated campaign will continue to inflict fear, to destabilize SAL\u2019s operations, and to cause further irreparable harm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement following his firing,Seaver and his team hit back at Parton\u2019s longtime manager Danny Nozell and Pinnacle Bank, claiming they were \u201cdismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions\u201d taken in the wake of Parton\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe remain unshakably resolved to fulfill her final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much,\u201d they told TMZ.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/people.com\/thmb\/XHlyC2_shJV3KhIzDth4_6JQMWM=\/fit-in\/1280x960\/dolly-parton-Country-Music-Hall-of-Fame-2025-093025-74f7122680e54c209c29c238247c51d6.jpg\" alt=\"Dolly Parton in Nashville in May 2025.Credit: Jason Kempin\/Getty\" title=\"Dolly Parton attends the opening of Country Music Hall of Fame\u00ae and Museum's new exhibit 'Dolly Parton: Journey of a Seeker' at Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on May 19, 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee. \" \/><figcaption><i>Dolly Parton in Nashville in May 2025.<br \/>Credit: Jason Kempin\/Getty<\/i><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a class=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/09\/21\/dolly-parton-nephew-fired-estate-battle\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow\">TMZ<\/a> first reported on Sept. 21 that Seaver had been fired from his role as head of security. The outlet reported that after he was let go with a termination letter on Sept. 16, replacement security guards took over Parton\u2019s main residence in Nashville, plus her museum, downtown home and warehouse.<\/p>\n<p>It was Seaver who announced his aunt\u2019s death to the world in a social media video.
