The Last King of Faerie, part of Clare’s Wicked Powers trilogy, centers on Drusilla Blackthorn, a fourth-year student at Shadowhunter Academy. After a night out results in her kidnapping, Dru winds up in the land of Faeries as a prisoner of Prince Ash Morgenstern, per the book’s synopsis.

Meanwhile, Dru’s brother, Ty, must team up with Kit Herondale when a sudden disappearance has drastic effects on the Shadowhunter world.

“When I come into the studio to do an audiobook, what I find is that it’s very much like doing theater,” Marsters says of the narration experience. “It’s basically hanging words in the air to get an effect.”

Knopf Books for Young Readers, the publisher of Faerie, says the novel contains the “nail-biting adventure, heart-pounding romance and trademark humor” that Clare’s readers have come to love.
